Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Varun Dhawan to Begin Border 2 Shoot on Nov 25
Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Varun Dhawan are joining forces for Border 2, an exciting war drama directed by Anurag Singh. According to a report from Pinkvilla, filming is set to begin on November 25, with scenes being shot in Jammu and Srinagar. The team is working hard to find the right locations in North India to create an authentic feel for the movie.
A source shared that pre-production for Border 2 has been in the works for almost a year, and now the team is ready to start filming. “Anurag Singh and his crew will begin scouting locations soon, with Jammu and Srinagar being the top choices,” the source said. The goal is to film action scenes and dramatic moments in real settings, giving the movie a more realistic touch.
The filmmakers are committed to making an action-packed war film that honors the legacy of the original Border (released in 1997). The source added, “Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Anurag Singh are doing everything they can to create a movie that viewers will be proud of, while also celebrating the first film’s legacy.”
The shooting schedule will run for six months, from November to May, with plans to release the movie on Republic Day 2026. “A lot of planning is going into the logistics to make sure the action sequences are done professionally and on time,” the source explained.
While JP Dutta directed the original Border, the sequel is being handled by his daughter, Nidhi Dutta, who has written and produced the film. Border 2 will focus on a new chapter of the 1971 Indo-Pak war, offering a fresh take on the historical events while paying tribute to the original film.
