Anupama 25th September 2024 Written Episode Update: Anuj convinces Anupama to support Sagar-Meenu’s love
The episode begins with Anupama pouring her heart out to Anuj. She feels burdened, as though she’s paying for mistakes from a previous life. “No matter what I do, it seems like everyone has a problem with me,” she tells him. She reflects on how hard she’s tried to be there for everyone, but still ends up being seen as the bad guy. Anupama explains that her niece, Meenu, has always been like her own daughter since her sister Dolly gave her to her care right after birth. She mentions how much she loves Sagar, treating him like her son, often calling him Samar by mistake. She’s hurt that Sagar, someone so dear to her, fell in love with Meenu without telling her. “Bala Kaka, you, no one told me,” she says, feeling foolish for not believing her sister Dolly sooner.
Anuj, trying to soothe her, gently asks, “Are you upset because they fell in love without your consent, or because they didn’t tell you?” Before they can delve deeper, Dolly storms in, declaring that she’s decided to marry Meenu off as soon as possible and won’t listen to anyone, not even Meenu’s father. Bala Kaka, seeing the tension, pulls Sagar aside, while Baa angrily threatens to slap Sagar if she sees him again.
Anuj then asks Anupama directly, “Do you think Sagar isn’t right for Meenu? Or is it something else?” He reminds her that love isn’t something anyone can control. “When you love someone, you only see them, no one else,” he says, drawing a parallel to their own love story. He explains that while the younger generation may seem different, they are still grounded in their responsibilities. Unlike in their time, Sagar and Meenu didn’t lose focus on their studies or dreams, balancing love and their future plans. He points out that Dolly is too focused on social status, but Meenu and Sagar have the right to decide their own futures. He acknowledges that they should’ve informed the family, but feels they shouldn’t be punished for falling in love. He pleads with Anupama to support them, just like she has supported other young couples in the past. Anupama listens, torn between her love for both families and her desire to see Sagar and Meenu happy.
Meanwhile, Sagar is talking to Bala, worried about how Anupama will react. “Do you think Anuj will convince her? Will she break ties with me?” he asks. Nearby, Toshu and Pakhi overhear and approach with mocking comments. Toshu reveals that he’s already created a profile for Meenu on a matrimonial site and has picked out suitors for Dolly to review. Bala warns Sagar not to take their taunts to heart, but Pakhi can’t resist making snide remarks about Sagar’s chances. Frustrated, Sagar grabs their phone, to which Pakhi retorts, “If you break our phone, we’ll break yours.” Sagar, staring at the photos of potential suitors, declares that no one could love Meenu as much as he does. Toshu laughs and mocks him, saying, “Your love is pointless. Anupama will never let you marry Meenu.”
Later, Anupama lets go of Anuj’s hand. When he asks what’s wrong, she shares her struggle. “It’s easy to support them or rebel,” she says, “but convincing the family is the real challenge.” She sympathizes with Dolly, who just wants the best for her daughter. “Parents have dreams for their children, and if Dolly wants Meenu to marry a successful doctor, she’s not wrong,” Anupama explains. She recalls how she’s always supported love—whether it was Kinjal and Toshu, Samar and Dimpy, or Adhik and Pakhi—but she knows Meenu and Sagar won’t be truly happy if they go against their family’s wishes. She recognizes that while they might have some say in Sagar’s life, Meenu is Dolly’s daughter, and it’s ultimately Dolly’s decision.
Anuj agrees that forcing Meenu into a marriage she doesn’t want is wrong, but he argues that Meenu also has the right to choose her own future. “We need to balance both sides,” he says, and they agree to try to help the family understand, knowing that it’s ultimately Meenu and Sagar’s decision.
Meanwhile, Dolly and Baa are scolding Meenu harshly. Dolly tells her that her tears won’t change anything and questions how she could fall in love with someone like Sagar, who, according to her, doesn’t have looks, education, or status. Baa adds that they don’t know anything about his background and can’t allow such a marriage. “Everyone in this house who had a love marriage is unhappy,” Baa says. Meenu, determined, responds that the family’s reputation is already damaged after Mamu’s actions, and they’re only still living in the house because of Anupama. “You talk about arranged marriages working, but look at Mamu and Mami—are they happy?” Meenu argues. She insists that her happiness lies with Sagar, and if she can’t have that, no “prince charming” will make her happy. Dolly, deeply hurt, says she never expected this from her daughter, while Meenu warns that if they don’t understand her love, she might disappear like Aadhya.
Back with Anuj and Anupama, Anuj lightens the mood by suddenly confessing that he wants to marry her right away. “I can’t wait any longer,” he says, half-joking. “Let’s get married now! If Aadhya finds out, she’ll be upset because she wants a big, grand wedding, but I just want to be with you.” Anupama smiles but quickly turns serious, reflecting on their past marriage. “Those were the happiest times of our lives,” she admits. “But why marry again? We’re happy as we are. Why not live like Radha and Krishna, without the formalities?” Anuj, however, insists that he wants it all—no more half measures. He doesn’t want anyone questioning their relationship again and wants to fully commit to her. “I don’t want to ever be apart from you again,” he says, taking her hand.
In the preview, Anupama encourages Sagar to fight for his love but reminds him not to fight against the family. Sagar nods in agreement. Anupama then announces to the family that Sagar and Meenu have decided to marry, and that she supports them. Dolly, shocked and betrayed, accuses Anupama of pushing her daughter into marrying an “auto driver.”
